Amateur golfers are welcome the next three weekends to challenge local pro Barry Krumwiede and contribute to three worthwhile charities. The fundraiser opportunities take place at the USA Golf School, located at the Circle K Golf Ranch in Rainbow on Saturdays, December 19, 26 and January 2; and Sundays, December 20, 27, and January 3.

When Krumwiede was active in the sport, he won 50 out of 60 pro and amateur tournaments. Now semi-retired, he is still up to the challenge of taking on all comers, who can win $100 or more in golf related merchandise.

There are a multitude of other activities for golfers of all ages and skill levels, such as an opportunity to win prizes in "Closest to the Pin" and a short stroke "Hole in One" contest. Balls for competitions cost $1 each with a minimum of 10 required.

[ Shred and Go ] raffle ticket which is placed into a drawing for a $25 USA Golf School gift certificate. Entrants who place first through third during the three-week period will win gift certificates of $150, $100 and $50 that can be used for lessons or merchandise. Even beginning golfers will benefit from tips they learn from Krumwiede. He is patient, skilled and knows many tricks of his trade.

Barry is not only dedicated to golf, but also committed to helping disabled golfers enjoy the sport with a greater proficiency. Here is a man who could rest on his laurels, but instead makes a full time effort to provide less fortunate individuals with an opportunity to capably play the game with pride.

Proceeds will benefit the Disabled Golfers Foundation, Fallbrook Food Pantry and breast cancer research. Reservations to participate must be made in advance by calling (760) 728-3005. While a victorious outing cannot be guaranteed, participants will undoubtedly enjoy the experience.
