BONSALL – For the sixteenth year, the Bonsall Woman’s Club has spearheaded their Holiday Needy Family Project for the community.

"The goal is to help make a happier holiday for military families stationed at Camp Pendleton as well as local families from the communities of Bonsall, Fallbrook and Pala," said Chairman Mary Jane Poulter.

Kicking off the start of the Needy Family Project was the PTA from the Bonsall Elementary School. A school food drive was held to great success with over 32 large boxes filled to the brim with food.

As in previous years, the Bonsall Chamber of Commerce held their annual holiday party and everyone was asked to bring an unwrapped toy. The boxes of toys and monetary donations that chamber members gave this year will Advertisement

benefit many children and families.

Guests at the "Magic of Christmas" holiday teas sponsored by the Bonsall Woman’s Club on December 8 and 9 were asked to bring new, unwrapped toys for the needy family project. Chairman of that event, Phyllis Zenz, was pleased that donation boxes overflowed with gifts and toys.

Poulter said this large undertaking was successful because "caring people in the community give and work together." Toys are gathered and wrapped, purchases made, food sorted and everything is personally delivered to the families, who are carefully selected.

"It is a joyous time for the families receiving these gifts and for all of us to have the opportunity to provide them," said Poulter.
