FALLBROOK - The Fallbrook Masonic Lodge was filled with a colorful crowd of Rainbow Girls, Masons, and members of the Eastern Star when two special young ladies, Julia Lyle, 19, and Jessica Lyle, 17 were honored recently. The sisters, both members of the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls (IORG), an organization which promotes strong moral values, leadership skills and community service in young women 11-20, were appointed to serve as grand officers this year in the state of California.

Julia’s duties as a state officer include serving on the Grand Executive Committee, carrying the official flag at events, and representing California IORG to the Rainbow Girls in New Hampshire, Vermont and Canada.

Jessica is the representative to Washington/Idaho, Australia, and the Orient Pacific - Japan, Guam, the Philippines, etc.

The Lyles spent the summer traveling to the annual conventions of those jurisdictions, and are now traveling around the state visiting assemblies and attending events where they are often called Advertisement

upon to make speeches. These opportunities have helped them develop poise and confidence in front of large audiences.

Their sisters in the Fallbrook assembly held a reception to honor them for their hard work and service to the community. Shannyn Allan, a current Fallbrook Princess and a past grand worthy advisor of California Rainbow, officiated as hostess. Grand Officers from throughout California attended in support of the Lyle sisters.

The afternoon was filled with pageantry as Rainbow Girls in full length dresses and hoop skirts escorted the flags of the Lyle sisters’ jurisdictions into the room.

Julia and Jessica designed their own dresses, which were sewn by Mrs. Sissy Pitts, an adult advisor. The sisters were presented with beautiful keepsake quilts embroidered by members from all over the state.

In a delightful and unexpected finale, Julia and Jessica launched into a town crier skit. Bantering back and forth, they thanked everyone who had contributed to their special day.
