A plumber died after sustaining blunt force head injuries from a fall off a 10-foot ladder while working on a customer’s roof in Rainbow the morning of November 24.

George Slaven, a 58-year-old married man from Rainbow, was working on the roof of a home on the 2100 block of Rainbow Valley Blvd. at approximately 8:46 a.m. on November 24 when he fell off his ladder, which first responders said was "at least ten feet high off the ground."

Emergency responders and firefighters were called to the scene, and immediately started trying to revive the man. Slaven was taken by medical helicopter to Palomar Hospital, but was pronounced dead upon arrival.

Slaven was best known as president of George Plumbing Company. He was also a member of the Rainbow Community Church and Iron Door AH Club #2882.
