Scott Youngren in the newly remodeled kitchen of the Child Development Center Team effort improves Fallbrook Child Development CenterThursday, November 15th, 2007 Issue 46, Volume 11.
The multifaceted revitalization was accomplished over one quick weekend. Scott Youngren, owner of Youngren Construction, said, "We demolished the kitchen on a Friday night and began installing the cabinets and countertops Saturday morning. By Monday morning, the center’s cooking staff was operating out of bright and cheery new surroundings." Doyall Sams, owner of Doyall Sams Cabinets, said the fast-tracked job was made easier by pre-planning, coordination and cooperation. "We created an initial computer layout to turn what had been a sub-par food preparation area into a nice, Pullman-style kitchen the center can be proud of," he reports. "We went high-quality throughout and included a built-in refrigerator. Scott’s staff helped with the installation. Together, we all made it happen." Transforming the kitchen was entirely a labor of love. "When Scott offered to do the demo and brought Doyall into the project, we were thrilled," confided FCDC Director Reva Reece, who praised the team for conducting efforts in the community style she calls "typically Fallbrook." Reece said, "As a nonprofit that must conform to stringent state and federal guidelines, the process of applying for and receiving repair and renovation grants can take up to two years. If we didn’t have friends in the community, we wouldn’t be able to run our quality program. Scott has always been a man who truly helps us and believes in family and community." 0 comments Be the first to share your opinion on this article! |
