FALLBROOK — The 41st Annual Fallbrook Vintage Car Show was held on Sunday, May 28, at Fallbrook High School.

Under sunny skies over 300 vintage automobiles, trucks and motorcycles were on display from 8 a.m. until about 2:45 p.m. when the last of over 40 trophies were awarded by Miss Fallbrook, Amber Briggs, and her court. Vehicles spanning 100 years of automotive production from a 1904 Locomobile to a 1981 Monte Carlo were displayed in their various classes on the high school football field. According to Mark Strikwerda, the Fallbrook Fireman’s Association served breakfast and lunch to over 1,500 of the participants and spectators and were swamped all day long. The Kiwanis and Boy Scouts served hot dogs, sodas and snow cones to the crowd as well. According to Fallbrook Car Show Chairman Tom Long, over 14,000 people attended the show.

The Fallbrook Vintage Car Club, a region of the Antique Automobile Club of America (AACA), supports many local charities and youth-oriented organizations throughout the year mainly from the proceeds of this show. Fallbrook’s longest continuously running event is supported by many local businesses making contributions to the raffles at the show and donations that ensure the club’s monthly charitable grants.

This year’s poster depicting the Del Rey Avocado packing plant in a circa-1950s setting is available at Express Copy, Joe’s Car Studio and Ward Jewelers. For information, charitable donation inquiries or membership information you may e-mail the Fallbrook Car Club at fvcc@adelphia.net.
